Description

A fun twist on traditional lasagna, this ravioli lasagna layers cheesy ravioli with marinara sauce, melted mozzarella, and rich ricotta—a comforting, easy-to-make dish that brings the best of both worlds to your table.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 (25 oz) package of cheese ravioli (frozen or fresh)
  • 3 cups marinara sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 1/2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, 1 cup mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper. Stir until smooth and well combined.
  3. Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  4. Layer half of the ravioli in a single layer over the sauce. Top with half of the ricotta mixture, spreading it evenly.
  5. Pour another layer of marinara sauce over the ricotta. Repeat the layers with the remaining ravioli, ricotta, and marinara sauce.
  6. Top the lasagna with the remaining mozzarella cheese.
  7. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for another 10 minutes, until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  8. Let the lasagna sit for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh basil if desired.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use homemade marinara sauce.
  • Feel free to add cooked ground beef or sausage to the layers for added protein.
  • If using fresh ravioli, adjust the cooking time as needed, since it may cook faster than frozen ravioli.
  • Let the lasagna rest for a few minutes after baking to allow the layers to set.
