  • 1 packet instant yeast
  • 1/3 cup butter, melted and cooled
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 tsp vegetable oil
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 22 1/2 cups vegetable oil, for frying

For The Icing

  • 3 tbsp butter, melted
  • 1 1/4 cup powdered sugar, sifted
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 2 tsp honey
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. For The Honey Buns – Using a stand mixer with a dough hook attachment, combine flour, sugar, and salt. Heat milk, then add yeast, melted butter, egg, and vanilla. Mix until combined. Knead in stand mixer for 10 minutes. Allow dough to rise. Roll out dough, sprinkle with cinnamon, roll into a log, cut into buns, let rise, then fry until golden brown.
  2. For The Icing – Mix melted butter, powdered sugar, milk, honey, and vanilla until smooth. Dip warm buns into icing and allow to set.
