Description

A light and velvety chilled dessert made with real mango purée, whipped cream, and cream cheese—egg-free and gelatin-free, this mango mousse is the ultimate tropical treat served simply with golden mango chunks on top.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 (8 oz) block cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 1/4 cups mango purée (fresh or canned)
  • 1 cup heavy cream, chilled (or whipping cream)

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, use a handheld or stand mixer to beat the softened cream cheese and granulated sugar until smooth and fully combined.
  2. Stir in the mango purée and mix until silky and well incorporated. Taste and adjust sweetness if needed.
  3. In a separate chilled bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form.
  4. Gently fold the whipped cream into the mango and cream cheese mixture using a spatula to maintain the light and airy texture.
  5. Spoon the mango mousse into individual serving bowls or glasses.
  6. Chill in the refrigerator for 6–8 hours, or overnight for best texture and flavor.
  7. Just before serving, top with fresh mango chunks and serve cold.

Notes

  • Use ripe Ataulfo or Alphonso mangoes for the best flavor if using fresh fruit.
  • Canned mango purée is a convenient and consistent alternative.
  • Can be made a day ahead and kept chilled until serving.
  • Top with mint leaves or coconut flakes for extra flair.
