Description

This chilled dessert combines rich, silky custard with a medley of fresh fruits, crunchy nuts, and a pink hue from natural fruit juices—refreshing, vibrant, and perfect for any festive occasion or summer treat.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 tablespoons custard powder (vanilla or strawberry flavor)
  • 2 tablespoons sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 cup chopped apples
  • 1/2 cup chopped bananas
  • 1/2 cup grapes (halved)
  • 1/4 cup pomegranate seeds
  • 1 kiwi, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons chopped almonds
  • 2 tablespoons chopped cashews
  • 1/4 cup fresh cream or whipped cream (optional, for extra richness)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix custard powder with 3 tablespoons of cold milk to form a smooth paste.
  2. Heat remaining milk in a saucepan over medium heat. Add sugar and stir until dissolved.
  3. Once milk is warm, slowly add the custard paste, stirring continuously to avoid lumps.
  4. Cook on low heat until the mixture thickens, about 5–6 minutes. Let cool completely.
  5. Once cooled, fold in cream (if using) and mix well to achieve a creamy consistency.
  6. Add chopped fruits (reserve some for garnish) and mix gently.
  7. Transfer to a serving dish and smooth the top. Garnish with kiwi slices, pomegranate seeds, and slivered nuts.
  8. Chill for at least 1 hour before serving.

Notes

  • Use fresh, ripe, and firm fruits for the best texture and flavor.
  • Refrigerate custard completely before adding fruits to prevent curdling.
  • Adjust sugar based on fruit sweetness and personal preference.
  • Can be made a day ahead and chilled overnight.
