Description

A refreshing and tangy salad made with crisp cucumbers, red onions, and fresh dill tossed in a creamy, seasoned dressing—perfect as a light side for any summer meal.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 2 large cucumbers, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup sour cream or Greek yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar or lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped (or 1 teaspoon dried)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the sour cream, vinegar or lemon juice, dill, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  2. Add the sliced cucumbers and red onions to the bowl and toss to coat evenly in the creamy dressing.
  3. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 20 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
  4. Garnish with extra dill or cracked pepper if desired. Serve cold.

Notes

  • Use English cucumbers for fewer seeds and a more tender bite.
  • For extra tang, add a splash of apple cider vinegar.
  • Best enjoyed the same day, as cucumbers release water over time.
