Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
- Prepare dry ingredients: In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, salt, and espresso powder.
- Mix wet ingredients: In another bowl, blend olive oil, brown sugar, granulated sugar, eggs, vanilla, and sour cream.
- Combine wet and dry ingredients: Fold in mashed bananas and mix in dry ingredients until just combined.
- Add chocolate chips: Dredge chocolate chips in flour, fold into batter, and pour into loaf pan.
- Top and bake: Sprinkle extra chocolate chips on top, add banana slices, and bake for 55-65 minutes.
- Caramelize topping: Optionally, caramelize banana slices with sugar using a kitchen torch.
- Cool and enjoy: Let the bread cool before slicing and serving.
