Description

Golden, crusty bread soaked in a rich garlic herb butter, stuffed with gooey melted cheese and baked until irresistibly bubbly—perfect as a shareable appetizer or indulgent snack.


Ingredients

  • 1 round bread boule (sourdough or artisan)
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  2. Carefully cut a circular lid from the top of the bread boule and hollow out the center, leaving enough bread around the edges to hold the filling.
  3. In a small bowl, combine melted butter, minced garlic, parsley, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper.
  4. Brush the inside of the hollowed bread and underside of the lid with the garlic butter mixture.
  5. Fill the center of the bread with mozzarella and cheddar cheese, then place the lid back on top.
  6. Brush the entire exterior of the bread with more garlic butter and place it on the prepared tray.
  7. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the bread is golden brown.
  8. Garnish with extra parsley and serve hot, pulling pieces apart or dipping chunks into the cheesy center.
