- 3 large apples (peeled, cored, and sliced thin)
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 6 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- Optional: powdered sugar or vanilla ice cream for serving
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, toss apple slices with brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla extract, and lemon juice.
- Spread the apple mixture evenly in a greased 9-inch baking dish.
- In another bowl, combine flour, rolled oats, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Stir in melted butter until the mixture becomes crumbly.
- Sprinkle the oat-flour mixture evenly over the apples.
- Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are bubbling.
- Let cool slightly before serving. Optionally, dust with powdered sugar or serve with vanilla ice cream.

- Use a mix of tart and sweet apples for deeper flavor.
- Let cool for 10 minutes to help the bake set before serving.
