Description

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 6 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • Optional: powdered sugar or vanilla ice cream for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, toss apple slices with brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla extract, and lemon juice.
  3. Spread the apple mixture evenly in a greased 9-inch baking dish.
  4. In another bowl, combine flour, rolled oats, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Stir in melted butter until the mixture becomes crumbly.
  6. Sprinkle the oat-flour mixture evenly over the apples.
  7. Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are bubbling.
  8. Let cool slightly before serving. Optionally, dust with powdered sugar or serve with vanilla ice cream.
