Crispy Mini Blooming Onions in Air Fryer

 

Ingredients:

4 small onions

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon paprika

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon black pepper

2 large eggs

1 cup buttermilk

1 cup breadcrumbs

Cooking spray

Instructions:

Prepare the Onions:

Peel the onions and cut off the tops. Carefully cut into the onion to create petals, leaving the root end intact to hold them

together.

Mix the Flour Coating:

In a bowl, combine the flour, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. For extra spice, add a pinch of cayenne pepper.

Prepare the Egg Mixture:

In another bowl, whisk together the eggs and buttermilk.

Coat the Onions:

Dip each onion first into the flour mixture, ensuring it’s fully coated. Dip next into the egg mixture, then coat thoroughly with

breadcrumbs.

Air Fry:

Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Spray the coated onions with cooking spray and place them in the air fryer basket.

Air fry for 15-20 minutes, or until the onions are golden brown and crispy.

Serve:

Serve the Mini Blooming Onions hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
